FRESH LIFE TOILET LAUNCH IN MOMBASA

The Minister of Water, Natural Resources and Climate Change in Mombasa County, Emily Achieng, has encouraged the residents of Mombasa County to maintain cleanliness to avoid diseases caused by pollution. Speaking to journalists at the launch event of special toilets known as FRESH LIFE TOILETS at Maryclife Primary School, in Tudor. Emily said that the toilets will greatly help to improve the environment of Mombasa county especially, the slum areas as the toilets do not use water or affect the environment in any way. Given that Mombasa county is witnessing a water shortage at the moment. In addition, he said, apart from improving the environment, the toilets will help in the provision of employment among young people as they will be directly involved in making and even cleaning the toilets.
“We know that Mombasa county is facing a shortage of water and that is why today we have come here to officially launch these toilets that do not use water and this will help a lot in taking care of our environment including that of the sea, and even provide employment opportunities for our young people who will be used in the construction and cleaning of toilets like this.” Said director of Fresh life Anthony Mulinge and also mentioned that the partnership they’ve established with Mombasa county will help a lot in solving the environmental challenges experienced by the residents of the county. However, he stressed that employment opportunities will be provided to the youth of Mombasa county to help them earn the income they will need.
“We are very grateful to Mombasa county for the cooperation they have given us as Fresh life and we promise to continue that cooperation to help the residents of Mombasa, especially the youth, and this issue of employment, no youth will be taken from outside unless it is from Mombasa county.” said Mr Ambani.
